Anonymous text chat, without giving your real name

How it works

It takes about a minute to start your first chat.

• Continue as a guest, or sign up with Google or email.
• Type a few interests, like anime, F1 or cooking.
• Get matched one-on-one with someone who shares one, and see what you have in common.
• Skip anytime. If you click with someone, add them as a friend and keep talking.

What the other person sees

The person you're chatting with sees your display name, the interests you share, and the messages you send. They don't see your email, your phone number or your location.

What "anonymous" doesn't mean

We want to be straight with you, because plenty of sites aren't:

• You're anonymous to other users, not to us. We store your messages and account details to run the service and keep it safe.
• When a chat is reported, its recent messages are reviewed.
• Our guidelines apply to everyone, and breaking them can get you banned.
• Anything you type can be saved by the other person, so don't share what you wouldn't want repeated.

How to stay anonymous in a chat

The biggest risk is usually what we share ourselves:

• Use a display name that isn't your real name.
• Don't share your full name, address, school, workplace or social media.
• Be careful with details that could identify you when combined.
• Leave, report and block anyone who pushes for personal information.
