You're always in control of who you talk to and for how long. Here's what we do, and what you can do.
Every chat has a Report button. Pick a reason and the chat ends instantly. The person is blocked and the report goes to a human for review.
Blocked people can never be matched with you again, can't message you and are removed from your friends.
Press Esc twice or tap Skip to leave. Nobody is told why, and you don't owe anyone an explanation.
Private messages only open once both people add each other. Strangers can't message you after a chat ends.
Everyone confirms they're an adult before chatting. Accounts we believe belong to minors are removed.
Perfriend is text only, so there's nothing to screenshot but words.
The chat ends and the person is blocked for you. You'll never be matched again.
The report is saved against their account along with the chat it came from.
A person on our team reviews it and warns, suspends or bans the account if it breaks our rules.
Keep personal details back
Your full name, school, workplace, address and social handles can wait until you actually know someone.
Stay on Perfriend
Being pushed to another app straight away is a classic spam and scam pattern, and it takes you out of reach of our moderation.
Never send money
Nobody legitimate will ask a stranger for money, gift cards or crypto. Asking is against the rules. Report it and leave.
Report, don't just leave
Closing the tab leaves that person free to bother the next person. A report gets them reviewed and, if needed, removed.
Trust your gut
If something feels off, it probably is. Skip, block, report. That's what the buttons are for.
